Raul Hernandez is from Pinar Del Rio, Cuba. Drummer,
percussionist and sax player. He was born on 09/22/1973, He started
playing drums
at the age of 18, when one of his friends invited him to
church to talk to him about Jesus Christ, during that visit
he was introduced to the drums and learned his first beat
on the drums. He became very passionate about playing the drums and
started thinking seriously about his career and desided to take
drumming as a correar. After leaving Cuba in 1994 for more and better
opportunities in U.S. He then started playing drums with different
South Florida local bands.
It was in 1998 when he met Joey Gilmore, the south
Florida's blues legend. He was with Joey for 09 years, and during
that period of time, he recorded in a few projects. He also had the
oportunity to be in the same concert bill for famous bands and
artists
like Kansas, BTO, Etta James, Chuck Berry, SOS, and more. Raul also played
many festival which was an excellent opportunity for him to improve on his
Latin, Blues and Jazz's techniques. On the other hand, due to his Latin
background, he also performes as a percussionist.
